Forget the computer for a minute. <<<Stanton T60 TT into the Behringer phono input>>> You need to be painful about this. The mixer has three of those. <<<Stanton C-501 dual cd into the Behringer ch-1 and ch-2 cd input (respectivly)>>> Nope. I need numbers like "Input 2, CD, Left and Right."...

Crash Recovery http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery However, it's probably going to happen again. Audacity 1.2 was really bad about opening music files that it didn't know how to manage. It sounds like that's what happened to you. The export got to that song and went straight i...

Re: major feedback/distortion while recording
Too vague.
Model numbers. Which Mac? Who made the original turntable? Who makes your current one? Which Cartridge? Who made the current USB mixer? Exactly which Audacity? What's the capitol of Kentucky?

Re: New user having problems
hmmmmm... Leopard on a Power PC. I don't have one of those. We can assume you saved your work on an external drive, cleaned out your System Drive completely and installed Leopard fresh from the install CD, right? In any event, you got a damaged install of Audacity. Delete the program from /Applicati...

Re: Fix for Portable Audacity settings not recognised
I'll visit this later. I'm starting from zero because I have no idea what this is or why I would want it.
Right now it's 78 degrees in LA and I need to drag the sewing machine outside and mend some shirts.
I also should mow the lawn but I'm not going to.

Re: Audacity & the Blue Screen of Death
You're getting there. By "FireWall" I mean a tasteful cerulean and silver box about the size of two or three cigarette boxes sitting next to the DSL adapter in the laundry room. It will probably have six or more lights on it. My particular one (obsolete by now) is by Belkin and happens to ...

<<<Okay... let me clarify.>>> We are a complete slave to whomever asks the question. This does ring a bell, yes. There are two uniquely Vista problems. Here's one. http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=796 The other is Audacity under Vista will freak if it doesn't find a Sound Devic...

Re: Problems changing rate from 22050 to 44100
Where are you getting "some files" from? Audacity 1.2 was bad about accepting and trying to play music files it didn't really understand.
You are changing the sample frequency with the little Project Rate window at the lower left of the edit window, right?
