Re: Error opening project
<<<I can open other audacity projects but not this particular one>>> That's very different from the impression we got back at the beginning. So you have a damaged Project and need a way to reconstruct it. Crash Recovery http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery Did we ever find out ...

Re: Slow Forum
It's been bothering me that I'd seen this behavior somewhere else. Then I got it. This is how a machine acts when you have to wait for the hard drive to spin up. The first time is agony, and then it's very sprightly after that.
Come back in ten minutes and you get to wait again.

Re: Recordings come out MONO?
You should be able to plug one of these in between your existing cable and the sound card to get your sound on both sides. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102690 The microphone connection is mono... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audioconnectors/audioconnectors.html ...and the comp...

Re: Saving custom equalizer presets
I'll get in trouble with the end of that first. There is a file on your machine called EQCurves.xml. It has the custom programming, in semi-english xml (oddly enough) programming. I'm on a Mac, so good luck finding yours. Here's an equalizer I wrote for a friend. <curve name="kentonUkulele"...

Re: Recording drums with other tracks sounds off with timing
You're supposed to be recording additional tracks as additional tracks, not trying to burn them into the final show in real time. That way lies madness, as you're finding out. There is provision for playing back the drum track while you're recording the instruments one at a time. Each instrument get...

Two problems; What time zone are you in? Our posters come from all over the world, and most of us are already doing this in our "spare" time. I should be washing socks right now. They're going to wonder why I'm barefoot tomorrow. But not wonder much. About a quarter of the crew runs around...

<<<even when i only talk into the mic>>> <<<im using windows vista.>>> People always ask these questions with attention to the wrong bits. Describe exactly what happens between your lips and Vista. Re: Help with uncensoring an audio track in audacity
Yup. Audacity will not open Dolby AC3 files directly. Most other editors won't, either. Dolby AC3 has interlocking relationships between all the audio tracks. That's how the compression works, so there's no such thing as just editing Front-Left. You have to decode the performance into six discrete a...

Re: Having troubles with missing AU segment files.
<<<Does that sound like a good idea? What do you guys do for back up?>>> I Export WAV files constantly. I've never used an Audacity Project except for testing. They're too brittle and prone to damage. You understand how this works, right, a Project consists of thousands of different files managed by...
