Re: Hang when importing aiff file
<<<1. Open new project file>>> Actually, you opened an Audacity Project, which is multiple files. <<<2. File > Import > Audio and navigate to an .aiff file>>> Before you do that, open the "aiff" file in QuickTime Player and Apple-I to get the INFO panel. Is it still a normal AIFF file? 16-...

<<<1.) what do you use Audacity for ?>>> Live recordings. General Editing; cutting and trimming sound clips. Re: Audio won't play through Presonus FireBox
There's actually two places to set. The obvious one is Apple Preferences, then comes Audacity > Preferences > Playback > Device. Re: Sound monitoring is slow.
<<<It is very distracting>>> Yes, it is. And it's the reason a lot of computers can't be used for this kind of work. If you need simultaneous playback and recording, the only options are in the Audacity panel... Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O > Those settings on the bottom. Hardware Playthrough, Sof...

Re: How to Export in 1.3.7 ?
<<<Hope someone can resolve this for us.>>>
The resolution is 1.3.7 may not be released yet. If you got one of the nightly builds, you got a pre-alpha version of the code. Not For Actual Use In Production.

<<<1.3.7 appears to be out - it is listed as the latest vn on the Audacity site.>>> What site? the SourceForge page still has 1.3.6. If you Google 'Download Audacity" you get this one... http://audacityteam.org/ Which leads to this one... http://audacityteam.org/download/ All featuring 1.3.6. Koz
