Somebody asked almost the exact same question, so there are two of you out there.
You can't separate two voice tracks from each other unless the show is stereo and the performers are left only and right only. Can I assume it's not?

You may have to apply the leveler more than once.

Re: Radio/Walkie Talkie Effect
I did something like that by getting really close to a microphone and then compress the heck out of it. Apply the "telephone" filters and you got it. Tune for effect. Not all radios sound like this, and remember this test has none of the other trash, hiss, and crashing in the background. T...

Re: Why oh WHY THE continued CRASHES?!
My favorite problem of all those is running out of room on your hard drive. It's a sneaky problem. My Computer > Right Click C: > Properties. That should tell you the size of your drive and how much you have used. If it's over 90%, you need to throw away or move stuff to make room. Editing audio or ...

Re: What are supported audio formats?
Darn good question. Windows Media only knows about Windows Media FIles...wma. Audacity will not open those. You may be able to use Super or Switch to convert from wma to wav which Audacity understands just fine. Google.

And you can install both 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time.

Re: mp3 encoding - playback volume of recorded file
When you have Audacity open with a sound, it should look something like this... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_playback.jpg The two blue wiggly lines represent the sound in the performance, upper ls left. If you click inside either of those and drag sideways, that portion will become selec...

Re: Reason behind lack of 1.2.6 for intel Macs
I'm saying that 1.2.6 is for regular users on Motorola Power PC Macs (G4 and G5, maybe G3) and 1.2.5 is for regular users on Intel Mac machines like the Duo-Core Mini I'm typing on.

Re: Problems with save and with export
I use/have used 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 with reasonable success. We're going to stay away from Mac 1.3.7 and wait for 1.3.8.
Now that I want it, I can't find the earlier versions. I swear there was a link on the main download page.

<<<- Pressed 'Play' button on windows media player - Pressed 'Record' button on Audacity.>>> So you're recording "What You Hear" or "Mix Out?" Both of those have volume controls in the Windows Control Panels. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixe...
