Plan on not recovering the interview. Audacity deletes files in the UNIX sense, not the Mac sense. 'You cannot UNDO this action..."

Re: Importing a 24-bit FLAC
This may be a lot more fun than I can deal with. I don't think all the 1.3 versions supported ffmpeg. You need to dig more in the install information and the FAQs.

It's actually getting worse. I've been trying to break into the forum on and off since 11a Pacific and I finally just kept at it long enough to succeed. It's 1pm. I'm connecting to the forum with one browser tab and starting another one immediately to go check mail while I'm waiting. The first tab o...

Re: Use as a WAV editor
<<<this is a duplicate of some other bug report?>>> It's not a bug. It was intended to be a Project editor, it was designed and coded to be a Project editor, and it works perfectly as a Project editor. No bug there. <<<like a sound file editor that requires you to have multiple tracks open at once?>...

Re: Need test files for that cause Audacity to hang
There's another thread in this section that's complaining about similar format scrambling in Mac 1.3.8 or 1.3.7. Doesn't matter, they both do the same thing.

Re: Importing a 24-bit FLAC
<<<I am pretty sure that the flac is 24bit >>> You probably shouldn't worry too much about this. The Mac Audacity 1.3.8 format handling is completely scrambled. I'm working with the version mommy on this in another message thread. If you have any actual work to do, you might roll back to 1.3.5 or 1....

Re: Need test files for that cause Audacity to hang
You'd think there would be a tidal wave. 1.3.8 20090202 opens up everything conventional. *.wav, *.aif, *.mp3. I didn't try every variation of bitrate, etc. I did try 24-bit, a nemesis of Mac systems. I set Audacity defaults for 48000, 24-bit and created a one second show of white noise. I made that...

Re: Hang when importing aiff file
OK. Now that I know where all the preferences are, I got 1.3.8 20090202 to ask me English? and when I opened up the piano thing, it arrived focused and with golden halo and SpaceBar Play. When I launch it from /Applications/Audacity138/Audacity.app, I get an exploding icon and an exploding outline. ...

Re: Binaural Recording
I give up. It's impossible to Google this microphone without thousands of "really cool" listings and no specifications. If the microphone has a Figure Of 8 pattern available--which is what this type of mic would have with no baffles or other tricks, then I would think you could mount one d...
