Re: What is causing the crackling on this vinyl??

<<<When you say "scrub">>> No, you find a paper towel that won't fall apart when it gets wet or a small washcloth or clean dish towel. You're after vigorous agitation of the fluid. If you have to start digging dirt out of the grooves with a brush, you may have more problems than a little P...

Re: Multiple notches with Nyquist prompt?

That's using the shortcut tools. You could do it manually by defining three points. Instead of notch=400, you define 399=-0db, 400=-40dB 401= 0dB. You can put as many of those in a formula as you wish. Make a sloppy notch filter with the graphic tools, save the filter, open it up and see what the co...

Re: Need test files for that cause Audacity to hang

See?

Be gentle. Wear water-tight gloves.

I have a totally right-brain idea what's going on. The Audacity Export module scrambled the file header. Depending on where the INFO service looks, it gets a different number.

Re: Editing

Re: Sudden difficulties

OK, now before we get all flushed and sweaty, you still have this one, right? "Couldn't find the project data file" and "Unable to open project file". I can see the file, I know it's there, but for no immediate reason Audacity has decided it isn't there. Any ideas? The AUP file i...

Re: ADDING TO A RECORDING.

This is actually two questions, or at least it has two answers. Live Performance Captures should be Exported As WAV at the conclusion. tuesdayMorning.wav Copy the WAV file to a backup device like thumb drive. Lock the thumb drive in a closet. Audacity "Save" will not produce a sound file. ...

Re: Sudden difficulties

Sudden Computer Insanity absent any other catastrophic event can be caused by your hard drive filling up. My Computer > Right Click C: > Properties The size of the drive and the amount used should both be listed. If you're using over 90% of the drive, that's too much. A highly fragmented drive will ...

<<<hi, first post here so im not sure if this has been covered before.>>> Well, yes, it's been covered before, and you probably can't do it, either. These are all the tools that do this kind of job. Some isolate, some remove, some do both. Koz Center Pan Remover (Voice Remover--Search the page for &...
