Re: Internal sound Source
Some Windows versions had the Ability to record "Mix Out" or "What You Hear." that gave you access to the speaker output of the sound card. The latest Windows versions make this much harder and some laptops deleted the tools altogether. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.o...

Re: Sound Source
A crash can cause the Audacity Preferences file to go nuts. Find audacity.cfg on your machine and trash it. Restart audacity and it should start from First Birthday settings. You know you succeeded when Audacity asks you English?? If you used to have Audacity 1.2 on your machine, this may be a lot h...

Re: Filtering out quasi static?
Both web connections "Load Files" forever. I never lose the crawling blue worm. However, If you have a noise reduction task, 1.2 isn't the place to do it. 1.3 has far better noise removal tools. You can put 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine at the same time. Do not try to use both at once. Crash...

Re: Sound problems - webpages and Audacity don't play sound
If you followed the Hackintosh Mantra, then you have all the supported hardware and this should be simple. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input and Output. Set these for the modules you want to use, like Line-In or Headphone Out. If you have wacky sound hardware, then you will have ...

Re: which is the correct version to use
Both. Up until last week, I had 1.2.5 and 1.3.7-experimental on this (Intel Mini) at the same time. I can't use them at the same time, but they're both installed. This is highly recommended because the Mac versions of 1.3.7 (the current version) are a little wacky. If you do find 1.3.6, that's the o...

Re: Major noise when laptop is plugged in.
Buzz saw sounds constant through the performance? This is a little Twilight Zone, but you are listening to a power plug problem in the church sound system. Broadcast sound systems are designed to run long distances and ignore electrical interference and system mismatches. When somebody is writing la...

You should probably leave the "ums" in.
Just kidding.
I'm wondering how you got to the Audacity help forum?

Re: Playing PC audio through USB mic
I will admit there is the temptation to ask you why this is an Audacity problem. But I won't. I would separate presentation from Web Services. Everybody always want to cram as many different services into one little laptop as they can. It's never pretty and we get the people who exceed the capacity ...

Re: Problems viewing recovery files
I can personally and with these fingers produce bad design on a Mac. It can be done. Sometimes I have to fight the Fuzzy-Warm® software to do it, but if I'm persistent and really concentrate, I can produce some real trash.
