Re: Problems with save and with export
<<<Intel MacBook and OS 10.5.6>>> One of my test machines is an Intel DuoCore Mac Mini running Leopard--so it's a really close cousin to what you have. Most of my testing is opening and closing work and seeing if the right menu's arrive at the right times. That alone can take a lot of programming ma...

Re: Recording at 24bit appears to be 16 bits padded to 24bit
Sorta old news. I think the format modules got away from the developers. I created a modest sound file in one of the newer Audacity test builds that arrives as 16, 24, or 32 depending on which software packages opens it. The Mac version has always had 24-bit troubles, and I wouldn't be shocked to le...

Re: New user and I keep getting an error message "disk full"
Your System Drive may be full. Programs will start acting wacky as your System Drive fills up. Close everything. Click once on your desktop. From the upper menu bar, Go > Computer The second icon after Network ball icon is your System Drive. Click on it once, then in the menu bar again, File > Get I...

Re: ODD Delay Problem
The desperation method is to open 1.3 with your valuable work and Export As WAV . WAV files will open up in all versions, anywhere. Preferences > Audio I/O there should be a setting that prevents Audacity from trying to change the machine settings. Make sure that's off. Can I assume you're on a Wind...

Re: Audio file skips after being converted with Switch!
<<<I recorded some files in mp3>>> Maybe not since the Olympus produces work in the CELP+ADPCM format. According to the instructions, this machine will record 144 hours of work on 256MB of memory. MP3 won't do that. So your real job is finding a software package that can convert CELP+ADPCM to AIFF o...

Did this poster send you a private mail.....too? I sent him to your post. Good thing, too. This is me printing that thread. As I pointed out to him, there's a big different between knowing how the magnets and wires work inside a microphone and playing a musical instrument. I got that magnet part nai...

<<<There is a lot of fuzz>>> You know your cleaner always wants to know the type of stain on your trousers; ketchup, blood, axle grease? If they attack the wrong thing, it can make the stain worse. If the "fuzz" is from the original show overloading--or overloading the capture, then there ...

Re: keyboard shortcuts
Missed a piece. You know that to "reload" Audacity you just have to trash the audacity.cfg file, right? You don't have to blow away the whole program.
