Don't bother. It's the combination of Leopard, Intel, and 1.2.5.
The official recommendation is use the latest version of 1.3.7.

Re: Saved mp3 files and Itunes
iTunes doesn't need you to work really hard to compress your music. It has its own compressor. So you should export your music in the highest quality you can (WAV not MP3) for importing into iTunes. Music CDs do not carry song titles and other information, so including them in your export may make i...

Re: VST Plugin from Kjaerhus
Because Audacity has limited support for VTS pluggins. Typically that means pluggin controls or fancy interfaces are missing. Those cost money.

Re: Certain WAV files won't play in Audacity
Do you have Windows set to show you File Extensions? That's the first step when you start having unexplained file issues. My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > Deselect [ ] Hide File Extensions.... If Windows still thinks it's a WAV file (unlikely), make it tell you which one. Right Click > Propert...

They warn you that it's enormously dangerous to have two of the same release version active on the machine at the same time. They step on each other's preferences and housekeeping. The Nightly Builds are produced for a purpose and that purpose frequently doesn't include solutions to earlier problems...

Re: Recording at 24bit appears to be 16 bits padded to 24bit
I'm tellin' ya. The export modules are scrambled. When the developers figure out my Audacity "Twilight Zone" sound file, we'll all laugh about this. It is possible the Windows version is dropping the ball because of the odd way Audacity handles the differences between Capture, Import, Open...

Re: PLEASE HELP! Regarding: LAME LIBRARY
OK, before you lose it, Export As WAV and get a nice sound file that's hard to break. Audacity will not "Save" a sound file. Now you have a protection copy of your work. Take a deep breath. Apple > About This Mac > Tell me what the "Processor" line reads and the Version. Do you i...

<<<As far as I can tell, the only 'in-point' on my latop is the mic?>>> Pretty much. PCs are designed for interoffice corporate phone calls and communications, not audio production. Macs do stereo audio production just fine, but they can't handle a microphone directly. What most PC people do is get ...
