Re: Need help - windows vista volume etc.
Howling or screaming feedback is a closed loop, not one thing. Any time you have a speaker system and a microphone running close to each other with the same show, you can get feedback. The Big Kids always put headphones on a singing performer. Even that isn't foolproof, because some of the more deaf...

Re: Recording over audio.
Darn good question.
Here's a wiki entry for what you want.

With only one computer, you may be stuck with post production before you post your podcast.

Re: Improving quality of Poor Tape to CD Conversion
Lost in all this is that Dolby® is a licensed process. So somebody would have to write a pseudo-Dolby decoder and then make it public like lame for MP3. Ray Dolby made his fortune by being one of the people who could do noise reduction on audio tape and few if any people could hear it working. There...

Re: Overdubbing Question
The grown-ups use a small sound mixer. You might be able to send "Mix Out" or some such to the speakers/headphones. The Windows Sound Control Panels are a thing of wonderment. That will give you perfect live performance characteristics, but a vocal track that you must slide around to get i...

Re: Change Tempo values
If you record exactly one minute of show and it doesn't play back for one minute, or it plays back in a different key, most times that turns out to be problems with a really cheap sound card.

<<<I'm intrigued that I have not seen anything about Apple-E or -F in all the reading I've done. >>> I am, too. Now I get to figure out how I knew about them. I will confess to a head start. I use Cool Edit 2000 on my PCs and when I edit, you can't see my fingers move. I knew these tools probably ex...

Re: Cut and Paste Problems
Forget Audacity Projects. Unless you're working on a multi-channel, insanely complicated show, you don't need them and they more than likely get in the way. Projects Don't Move. Once you Save A Project, it's more or less stuck on the machine that made it. Further, all the components, segments, and c...

Re: New to editing - help!
I was wondering when somebody was going to get around to doing that. Dolby 5.1 surround has been around as a sound file format for a long time (Dolby Audio DVDs. I have "Buena Vista Social Club" as a surround sound performance), but you get to pay Dolby Labs a license fee every time you do...
