Re: bad address error 14 exporting mp3
This is all a bit up in the air yet, but rumor has it that there is a different version of lame than the one you probably have. Go back up to the lame page and make sure your version number and its version number match. I think the lame that used to work on 1.3.3 no longer works on the advanced Auda...

Re: Problem Recording Please Help!!!!!!
My favorite for this is Total Recorder. That will capture anything on your machine. There is a new version for Vista http://www.totalrecorder.com/TR_and_Vista.htm It used to be that if you searched hard enough, you could find the tools inside Windows that would allow you to do this by opening up pat...

Re: Turning an audacity file so that it is downloadable
Yes, that's the normal problem. Audacity doesn't Save sound files and nobody can download a Project. You have to Export your show into some sound file and then it should work OK. How do you get the work up there? WinFTP? Some FTP software built into your web authoring tools? I think you can post stu...

New! (and Improved) lame?
Where is the version dividing line when the Intel Mac 1.3.x Audacity versions started needing a newer lame? How do you know if you already have the right one? What are the repercussions of using the wrong one, or is it even possible? I encountered a lame download that produced an "installer&quo...

Re: Is there an easy way to down-convert Audacity files?
<<<I've been playing and singing since age 6>>> And now you're twelve, so that's, what, six years. Have you ever had the opportunity to compare MP3 and AAC? I found that you could do better in AAC by about a factor of two. Either double the quality at the same bit rate, or the same quality at half. ...

That's what I was hoping you were going to say. Not "because it's cool," or "everybody says the higher number are better."
Enjoy.

Re: Need quick help with recording Q!
<<<I'm using the basic form of audacity and recording with a junky karaoke mic (that I stole from my sister)>>> You'll need to get a lot closer than that. I'm typing on an Intel Mac Mini running OS-X Tiger 10.4.11. I use Audacity 1.2.5 and 1.3.6a6 (but not at the same time). I talk into a Logitech U...
