Re: I'm not sure if this is possible

That sure sounds like it. Once your get your hour-long track as edited and processed as you want it, Export As WAV to get a backup sound file against the time your whole world goes into the toilet. Then put a Label (I think Control-B on a Windows machine) at the beginning of each song you want to pl...

Re: Interview subjects talk too loudly!

<<<With the Zoom H2>>>

But as a practical case, you can't have the machine smashed into somebody's face for an interview and do that.

Do you know anybody who uses the AGC?

Re: Interview subjects talk too loudly!

After you apply clipfix and repair the show just as it is, you might be able to use this compressor to even things out a bit. This is in response to a level problem I had... http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8116&start=0 The studio feed from a radio show has the same problem...

Re: Manual for 1.2.5 Version

Put a label (Apple-B) at the beginning of each music performance you want as a separate song. Then File > Export Multiple > WAV format. This will give you a pile of WAV file which will blow right into iTunes. Create a PlayList and pull all your songs into it. The PlayList is the first/only place whe...

Re: Audacity Causing Computer to Freeze

I think this has to do with you filling your hard drive. My Computer > Right Click C: > Properties. You should have at least 15% of the drive unused and the available space should be error free and defragmented. The first time people get into audio (or video) editing, they're shocked, shocked about ...

You understand the curse of getting really good at that is you have to come back and help other people out of trouble. Doesn't matter if you're an expert or not. You are going to know more than somebody else.

And there's no way to get good at a subject past teaching it.

Re: Is "Tracks > Resample" irreversible? Hours of work lost

<<<I'm sure glad I didn't save the file!>>> You should probably stop using those words. Audacity is not saving "a file." An Audacity Project can be thousands of files, the lead one being the AUP file. That's the one everybody thinks is their show. That's just the conductor. The rest of the...

Re: Spyware Detector and Audacity

It is to each company's benefit to always "find something." to scare you into continuing the account. Have you noticed that two of your packages are now fighting with each other? You and the machine are irrelevant. One of the radio techie gurus once admitted in an unguarded moment that he ...

Re: Unplugged Microphone, No Options Available

<<<my microphone accidentally came unplugged.>>> Left out a word. My "USB" microphone came unplugged? If that's the case, then you have the same chances of recovery as someone whose Audacity crashed in the middle of a recording, because that's, in effect, what it did. Audacity 1.3 has very...
