Re: Export finishes, then crash

That doesn't look like the regular Audacity prompt screen. Where did you get it from? The usual cast of characters for crashes like this: --Defrag your Hard Drive. Audacity will not work into a badly fragmented drive. --Error Check the hard drive. --Empty out the drive. No production drive should be...

Re: Linking CD tracks together

You could have very slightly damaged clips in a way that's common, but not obvious. Process each song to get rid of the DC level. Edit > Select > All Effect > Normalize > Remove DC (deselect anything else). Export each corrected song as a new WAV. Open the first WAV and then the second, and then cut...

Re: Split a recorded Cd into tracks

Put a label (Apple-B) at the beginning of each song you want exported as a single and then File > Export Multiple > WAV. That will give you a pile of high quality songs to pull into iTunes, create your playlist with the songs in it (in the order you want), and burn the list. Wait for iTunes to tell ...

Re: Where are my lame files?

I think the system administrators Did Something to make the lame process much easier and I'm not sure I like very much what they did.

Forum Speed

Just a note. I think the forum access and speed has been fine. I didn't sit in the corner with a stopwatch or anything, but my fuzzy impression is snappy response almost no matter when I log in. So whatever was done to the forum last time worked famously.

Re: Finding cntradeshoes

I wonder if it has to be an active account. I had the failing searches after I suspended their account but before I killed all their commercials.

Re: Continuous Album

I use Varitas, Easy CD Creator, and Nero depending on which PC I'm using. The "free" versions of these packages tend to leave things out to get you to buy the larger package. Frequently, the ability to manage the 2-second gap vanishes.

Re: what happended to the mp3 format?

Audacity doesn't "save" sound files. To get a sound file of any kind you have to "Export."

Re: extract audio from FLV

If all your tools fail as well as Super and Switch, Total Recorder can always be relied on to capture live audio.
