Re: visually scan audio spectrum
Yes, but. 44100 is widely considered barely up to serious music and may not be enough for critical sound work. That's why I picked 48000, the video sound standard. Also, my numbers are to calculate the required drive space, not the show size. The instant you Export as a self-contained WAV file, the ...

Re: Bumped (disconnected) sound card during recording; cant
Can you play the show? You didn't actually say that. Does it export? If you can export, that will give you a stand-alone WAV audio file that you can edit later. If all else fails, do you know anybody with a nice Mac? Plug the headphone out of your PC into the Line-In of the Mac and re-record the sho...

Re: How to sample, if you must...
48000 is the television sound sample frequency. 44100 is the compromise the engineers made in order to get the most music on a music CD and satisfy most, but certainly not all, the people listening to it. I use the older Nyquist value of 2.6 in calculations. 2.0 only works if you add "noise&quo...

Re: visually scan audio spectrum
Oop. Forgot one. There's the 4GB limit on WAV files, too. So even if you do capture all that, you'll only get to export it in chunks (which you probably want to do anyway).

Re: visually scan audio spectrum
We try to keep dialog on the forum so the most people possible can benefit. In a word, no. Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except capture/record. Also, while Audacity will cheerfully try to record for hours, the requirements of the computer become onerous as to be unusable. We've had a num...

Yes. We need a little more of a push. Describe the show. Remember we can't see what you're doing. Is this something you downloaded from the internet?

Re: Remove cell phone interferrence from recording
A slightly sloppier way is to zoom into the pips, select them and Edit > Silence. The holes are a lot less noticeable than those pips.
