There are ways to force the computer to deliver good sound to you such as ASIO software, but Audacity doesn't support ASIO because it's Pay To Play only.

Re: Delay on voice in headphones when recording
hear my voice in my headphones without delay. You still can't listen to the computer. What's your microphone? The Desperation Method is cup your hand. You voice goes up your hand to that ear. This is a Gary Owens spoof of "Ye Olde Time Radio Announcer." https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity...

Re: Recording at higher turntable speed
RIAA.
Sound in a record groove isn't perfect and flat. Bass notes don't fit so they're reduced and the high pitch stuff is boosted to help compete with noise. If you transfer the records at the wrong speed the boosts and reductions happen to the wrong sounds.

Re: Assembling remote ensemble mp3 files
in the extreme they may even have different tempi. How did you arrange sync? You can certainly set up for Audacity overdubbing where you play to a backing, sync or rhythm track, but short of that (which can be a little magic), you can send a sound file around that they play on their phone into head...

Re: Revision needed to audition
Over-compressed/limited. You can get that if you didn't turn the Windows Enhancements off or you're announcing on a Skype, Conferencing, Chat or Games machine. All those things can affect the recorded voice—usually making it sound processed, compressed, or squashed. In those cases, the Mastering Su...

Re: Revision needed to audition
The Audiobook Mastering Suite will guarantee Peak and RMS to any reading. You should use all the tools in order and not add any or leave any out. They're designed to work from a good, stable, raw reading and don't correct human errors such as lip smacks, gasps or other wet mouth noises. MasteringSui...

Re: mixing downloaded sound effects
Open one in Audacity and then drag the second one into the open window. It should open in a second timeline under the first and play at the same time. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to shift them around in time until you get what you want. Pay attention to the bouncing sound met...

Re: Problem: Flatline AUP
You could have actual damage past misplacing a file here and there. Open the AUP file in a text editor (Notepad??) and read it. Don't save anything. It should look roughly like this. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/aupFileGraphic-redbox.jpg They should be English or English-like words. If yo...

Re: Problem: Flatline AUP
The AUP file is a text file. It's not sound. It's the instructions for Audacity how to put your show together from all that stuff in the _DATA folder. You need both. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg The AUP file and the _DATA folder have to be in the same location ...
