Re: Audacity importing MP3 with wrong format (v. 1.3.7)

<<<I also searched the forum but couldn't find anyone reporting a similar problem...>>> Which is why this probably isn't a bug. It's a bug when you show up with 100 of your closest friends and you all have the same problem. Do you have Windows set to show you file extensions? I don't remember the co...

Re: Two Audacity Recording Sessions?

No. Audacity is a very simple sound program and it likes very simple tasks. It will not manage more than one Sound Device.

Re: export multiple and error message

Have you ever had a computer that was possessed? I don't mean by you, I mean by that tall guy with the smoke around him behind you. What caught my eye in your information was the Red Book thing. Red Book Compact Disk is the long name of a music CD. You have Computer Insanity because nothing you do s...

Re: Trouble renaming segment saved

Are you on an Intel machine? Apple > About this Mac > Processor > Intel

If you are, you might want to graduate to Audacity 1.3. There have been some significant problems with the 1.2.5/Intel/Leopard combination.

Re: Trouble renaming segment saved

You used a couple of naughty words there and we need to deal with that first. Audacity, no matter how hard you try, will not Save a sound file. Will not. Audacity only Saves Projects. In order to get a internationally recognized, stable, stand-alone sound file that you can email to your mum you have...

Re: export multiple and error message

<<<Reading Redbook file.>>> Where did the music come from? That's a Music CD show, isn't it? There's a setting in iTunes Import Preferences that lets you convert Music CD shows to Something Else. That Something Else should be AIFF, 44100, 16 bit. Try that with a fresh CD and I bet a lot of these mag...

Re: MAC /VMW Fusion audio input problems

So you don't really have a live recording where you can reach out and caress the mandolin strings and thump on the drum. You just want to record the computer's show. Macs don't like to do that. I have a license for WireTap which will record anything running on my Mac. Highly recommended. If you real...

Re: Removing Background Music

<<<Remove or isolate the centerpanned sound>>> True. But the poster suggests his entire performance is center panned, so that may not work so good. We will add that tool to the list. You have all the symptoms of a sloppy computer. All computers do not have 'surgical computer accuracy.' Some machines...

Re: Organizing Effects (Group)

Part of grouping has to be the ability to assign a hot key. Noise Reduction is a process where you go back and forth into the tool multiple times to change values. In 1.2 it's a two-step process. In 1.3 it's four or five because of nested groups. You don't need many passes to realize what an intense...

Re: Removing Background Music

I'm searching for an illustration of how hard this is. Download the Left-Right-Mono track from here... http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html ...and put it on a timeline. The last two tracks are in-phase and out of phase voice. If you magnify the waveforms several times you will find that the Lef...
