Re: Command line leveller effect
The Audacity version of Leveler is a brute force peak limiter that sounds worse and worse as the compression value goes up. I've been known to use it in the higher settings to simulate a police radio. I personally like Chris's Compressor... Chris's Compressor http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-comp...

Re: Recording problems
My personal way out of this is my license for Total Recorder which easily lets me record anything playing on my PC. However, if you're determined to do this The Old Way, you can mess around in the dreaded... Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Usin...

Re: editing iTunes
If you bought iTunes songs, then yes, they come with all sorts of oddball compression and copy protection. However. The iTunes music license (I bet you didn't know you had one of those) allows you to burn (I believe) five Music CDs with whatever you bought. From there, it's a simple matter to rip th...

Re: using Freakoscope in audacity
I'm guessing no. Fre(a)koscope is a real time module and Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except capture.

Re: no sound or wave pattern
You need to tell the machine that the device is there and available. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input Select your FireWire device from the list. You should be able to make sounds and the panel sound meter should light up. Make sure the panel volume setting is turned up. Close th...

Re: Distortion in Windows Media Player after making edits in
48000 sample rate isn't going to help level distortion. 48000 Hz, 16-bit, Stereo is the AES/EBU international video sound format and I do a lot of work in that. I have never had any program refuse to accept my clips. 48000 sample rate affects the crispness and fidelity of the sound. It has no affect...

This could be more fun than normal because of this...
<<<A straight line.>>>
Removing parts of a project by accident doesn't give you a straight line. The blue line keeps wiggling even though the show is silent.
Is that what you meant to say?

Re: poor quality export
First thing, the channel is distorted all the way through, not just during your presentation. I amplified the "silent" portions... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/ChantingWave2.wav So they're not so silent after all. You used some magic words at the beginning. You "copied" you...

Re: Splitting Dj mix into seperate tracks
Audacity 1.2.6 and 1.2.5 will both run under Mac OS-X, but 1.2.5 will run on an Intel machine and 1.2.6 will run on a PowerPC G-something. If you changed the Audacity version, you also have to delete the Audacity preferences. Trash Mac Audacity Preferences http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php...
