Re: Ok- what's the function that "marks" songs called??
<<<I have several live recordings that I want to eventually put on disc.>>> What I'm trying to 'splain is that you can't do that. You can put the music on a Music CD, but you can't put the song titles on there. If you completely disconnect your computer from the internet and put a commercial Music C...

Re: Announcer Voice
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except capture/record. That is a very old feature request. If you're doing all this in post production, then there's hope. Several people make voice changing software you can apply after you record your voice. BrotherSoft http://www.brothersoft.com/av-voice-...

<<<via my headset>>> If you're suffering with room and other noises while you're wearing a headset, you will never get a stand-alone microphone to work. We finally gave up using other microphone types in our fake theater (featuring fan and ventilation noises) and got the presenters to wear headset-t...

One or two more pieces: Panther/Tiger/Leopard? Has it ever worked? How old is the install? Do you ever Verify Disk and Repair Permissions? Have you trashed the Audacity Preference file? Trash Mac Audacity Preferences http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8250&hilit=problems+with...

Re: Constant Beeping on recording
You performed a podcast by speaking live into a microphone and recording it, or you captured it from the internet?
Nothing jumps out at me, so we'll need the whole computer type thing.

Re: Audacity Crashes
These are the Harry Houdini problems. They can't be happening, but they clearly are. You have a regular routine of cleaning out your drives of unneeded files and you error check and defragment, right? No drive in your system is over 90% full? Just to get that out of the way. It's unlikely, but if Au...

Re: matching sound level on either side of a cut
You should be able to roughly match the sound levels by the size of the blue waves on the timeline. Fading has traditionally been used to hide problems like this, yes. If you do it right, the end of the first song and the beginning of the next, which used to be mired in fifteen minutes of applause, ...

Re: No sound in saved project on Panther
All is good. Our one remaining Panther machine has Audacity 1.2.6. 12 NOV 2006. What sort of sound files do you have that get stuck and how do I get the same ones? How long is the show? Does it do this if you simply generate 30 minutes of white noise on the timeline? Have you ever done a Repair Perm...
