Re: Announcer Voice

<<<I know I have to add the emotion and emphasis >>>

And you left out the sample of your voice. If you sound like Kelly Clarkson, then, no.

Re: can't get the program to work

You mentioned swapping the sample rates around in Audacity, but you never said anything about Audacity's own input/output panel. Audacity > Preferences > Audio I/O. One other item is to set everything in the known world to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Everything supports that. That's the Audio Compact Dis...

Re: Mute/Solo settings are ignored on export

Mute and Solo are playback options, not editing options. Neither one changes the track at all. You can select one track and Control-L silence the whole track. If you save the project before you do this, you can always UNDO and back up to the Project before you silenced the track. It's a really, real...

Re: can't get the program to work

Practically speaking, you have strike one and two right there. It shouldn't make any difference whether or not you have a FireWire device, or VOIP service, but it might. VOIP programs grab the sound system with white knuckles and don't let go. That's how they seem to work no matter what kind of comp...

Re: PLAYBACK

ION and several other manufacturers decided to build throw-away turntables for people who want to digitize their vinyl collection and then throw it all away. The problem is sometimes you have to throw the turntable away a little too soon. These are not super high quality devices and many people arri...

Re: Problems with skipping and infact getting it to work!

All that plus you didn't use the magic words: "I have lots of room on my hard drive and I error check and defragment regularly."

Audacity will not work into a full or fragmented hard drive.

Re: Please Help Me

<<<Isn't that the same as four processors?>>> Technically yes, but the operating system and applications have to "know" about them and how to use them. One guy in the office built a delightful computer as a foot-warmer. Three quarters of his processors and memory are not accessible to his ...

Re: Speak. (Type). Slowly.

There is one setting that may need to be changed for beginners. Audacity comes out of First Birthday trying to change the screen view to match where the cursor is. That means just when the play cursor reaches the right edge of the screen, the whole screen snaps to a new view of the song. This makes ...

Re: Speak. (Type). Slowly.

It will take you about fifteen minutes to get tired of that magnifier tool, but you can't edit without it, so once you figure out about where in the blue waves you want to edit by mouse click and Spacebar Play, click and drag a blob around the edit and zoom into that selection Control-E. Play the se...
