Re: MP3 playback lower quality compared to playing on Audaci
We're wearing our rubber gloves when we answer you because Windows Audacity 1.2 is one of the most difficult to fix. The audacity preferences are kept in The Dreaded Windows Registry instead of a preferences file, so a simple preference fix can turn into a struggle with windows repair tools. Ewwwwww...

Re: Transferring cassettes to PC in stereo
Dig down into the Audacity Preferences and make sure you're capturing in stereo. It's also good to capture 44100, 16 bit, Stereo while you're at it. That sound standard drops into CD burners and MP3 compressors really well. Edit > Preferences > Quality and Audio I/O. Are you on a Windows Laptop? Mos...

Re: Newbie wanting assist on labeling
That article artfully tip-toes around the fact that you can't actually burn the song titles into the music. That article is to print the song titles on the printable CD itself with your ink jet printer, or to print the song titles on a piece of paper that you then slide into the CD case. Music CDs d...

Re: Announcer Voice
<<<A female voice could be pitch shifted to sound like a male: (similarly to increase masculinity of a male).>>> That hasn't been our experience. Straight pitch shifting beyond one or two piano notes always produces strange effects rather than a male/female shift. To illustrate: the word "list....

Re: Make Audio Louder
I'm not trying to talk you out of upgrading, but Chris claims his work runs nicely under 1.2.6. Yes, Chris has the graceful compressor. I tell people it sounds like the local NPR FM station. It doesn't appear to be doing anything until you compare it to the show without it. If you download the podca...

Re: Record audio out and audio in from Skype Conference
You can record both sides of a Skype conversation by putting the Audacity and Windows SP machine microphone on the table half-way between you and the Skype computer speaker. This sounds awkward, but it's really easy to control the loudness balance between the two sides of the conversation. This is t...

Re: Intercomm effect and radio effect
<<<but I'm sure I'm missing something.>>> Echoes are not A Thing. Echoes, with the exception of a large canyon in Colorado, are a collection of different sound bounces from different walls, floor and ceiling. This makes them impossible to take out and really difficult to convincingly make. We've bee...

Re: DeActivate. I got the swing!
Last time I tried to Delete a user, the system would not let me. I only have enough elf gold to deactivate users.
So I do it in two steps; bulk delete all their posts (which I used to do one at a time), then deactivate the user.

Re: audacity version
I wonder if it's possible to write back to the author of the video. There's an error in the presentation and it's pretty common, and sometimes fatal to a show.

DeActivate. I got the swing!
I think I found the best way to erase a troll. You have to remove all their posts before you deactivate the account. Then, quicker than a bunny, kill the account itself. It's wide open in that little gap, so speed is good. Correct me, but there's no way to kill the postings and the account in one st...
