Re: vers. 1.3.7 Saved but still lost
Was Audacity open and running when the power went away? If it was managing the temp file at the time, there is no temp file. The Project should have survived, though. Were you editing the show when the power dumped? We warn people often to Export As WAV at the end of a critical capture session. That...

Re: Exporting to itunes. Does not recognize separate tracks,
I can't find the tutorial that goes with this, but it's not that hard. While your one long capture is on your timeline, put a Label (Apple-B) at the beginning of each song you want to push over to iTunes as a separate piece. Then, Export Multiple > WAV and Audacity should provide you with a pile of ...

Re: Record No longer Working Properly
<<<I had just downloaded the software, used it to record (1) song, fine, started trying to figure out why it was defaulting to MONO vs. STEREO on record and began changing settings.>>> Audacity defaults to Mono right out of the box, so nobody's amazed about that. If your intention is to burn Music C...

Re: Podcast best save record!
<<<default sample rate 11,025>>> A lot of people do that, and I wonder about the wisdom. MP3 encoder's job is to preserve the original quality as much as possible given the compression bitrate selected. If you subsample and process the show ahead of time and make it mushy and muffled, then the encod...

One of the problems with these forums at the bottom is people never tell us what kind of computer they have, the operating system, or version of Audacity.
It makes a big difference.

<<<suddenly the recording function is no longer working properly.>>> And this happened right after you filled up your hard drive? You didn't say which type of computer you have, but they all go nuts when the last of the spare drive room gets used up. Which type of computer do you have? <<<I have uni...

The rule is to place a label at the beginning of each desired clip.

Re: When I record multiple files there's an automatic bass b
I'm betting you're not recording your microphone the second time. You're recording Mix-Out or other computer summation services. So what you're really doing is recording your own performance plus re-recording the original performance a little late. If you do that trick just right, the high frequenci...
