Re: Sure SM7B sounds muddy with sharp sibilance.
the audio enhancements in Windows is just for the headphones not the Mic Then you went to the wrong setting. Win7-RightClickSpeaker-RedDot.jpg All my sample recordings were with the Flat Response setting. I have always had the mic in the B position as per the image you sent. Which one is right? Koz

Re: Volume surges after compression (audiobook recording)
The Mastering Suite treats your entire chapter or sentence, or however you break up your reading, as one block of voice. If you like to weave and bob around in front of the microphone these corrections won't fix that. Stop moving around. You are urged strongly to listen to yourself on sealed against...

Re: Sure SM7B sounds muddy with sharp sibilance.
Get rid of the AIR setting on the Solo. That's another tone control.

Re: Sure SM7B sounds muddy with sharp sibilance.
Is that not true with the SM7B? Both leaky-teeth sibilance and P-Popping go down when you use oblique microphone placement. The most effect is to suppress P-Popping. The worst thing you can do is put the microphone directly in front and low like Joe Rogan does it. When you're Joe Rogan you can get ...

Re: Alternative solution to "Change Tempo" and "Sliding Time Scale" for a higher quality output.
I'm asking if exist a plugin or another tool or technique which is able to give a better result. Not that I know of. Effect > Change Speed is the tool with the least damage to the sound. It changes both. The other two, pitch and tempo have to tear the sound apart and try to put it back together in ...

Re: Whining "frying mosquitos noise help"
My macbook is quite old. Can you still run it on battery? A soft battery system can cause problems like this. I had friends at work whose Mac only worked plugged into the wall. They had no battery life at all and it was starting to cause problems such as this. Older Macs would let you change the ba...

Re: Whining "frying mosquitos noise help"
We have a plugin tool dedicated to that problem. Mosquito-Killer4.ny That's a USB problem. USB cables have both clean, pure 5 volt battery and data waves in the same cable. If either the computer, the USB devices, or the cable drops the ball, one will leak into the other causing this frying mosquito...

Oh. Look at that. The SM7b has tone controls. Unscrew the back panel and see where they're set.
That's screen grabs from the microphone instructions.

Re: Sure SM7B sounds muddy with sharp sibilance.
Better. You're on Windows 10, right? Did you turn off all the Windows Enhancements and Processing? https://technicallyeasy.net/disable-audio-enhancements-windows-10/ Those enhancements can include tone controls and loudness compensation, not very welcome in this case. You mentioned drivers for the S...

Re: Sure SM7B sounds muddy with sharp sibilance.
That recording "SM7B_Solo.mp3" Was with the SM7B XLR Cable going straight into the Solo with 48V disabled and the gain turned all the way up to max on the solo. I believe you. That's very surprising because the reason you're using the Lifter, and the reason many suppliers sell you a Lifte...
