Re: Audacity 1.2.6 Crash over long time recording?
Especially if Windows had troubles coming back to life. You didn't use nearly enough words like: "I checked the capacity of my hard drive," and "I error check and defragment every week." http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314848 Method 1 There is an error checker in that same panel....

<<<I'm having the same problem with the same Error message. >>> But way not the same computer. Are you trying to talk down a Personus FireBox, too? New Skype account? Skype and Vonage add a driver layer into the mix of signal pathways which complicates things. <<<I don't think my computer setup is t...

Re: newbie advice please !!

Re: Distortion Analyzer
Got it. Thank yew. Is it necessary to run playback and record at the same time? Is there something you use that needs to "see" the outgoing for it to work? I picture my General Radio audio oscillator plugged into the circuit under test and the circuit output plugged into my PC/Mac. The too...

Re: Project files not visible in Vista Windows Explorer
Windows likes to pretend it's doing advanced file management, but it's really just using the three-character file extension and then hiding it from you. The latest Windows won't even show you the extensions in "properties" like the earlier ones did. This gives you concepts like: "I th...

Re: M-Audio won't work on Mac
It does. But sometimes it's a little wacky to get it going. Check out Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. Then dig around inside Audacity Preferences. As a starting point, set everything in sight to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Audacity 1.2 defaults to 44100, 32-bit, Mono and won't connect to much of anyth...

Re: MP3 playback lower quality compared to playing on Audaci
A few general basics WAV and Apple AIFF (also AIFC) are clear, clean, uncompressed, undamaged sound files. These are the production masters from which you make everything else. The main difference between WAV and AIFF is the "bit order." You buy a dozen eggs from two stores. One store fills...

In the US, "Panty Hose" and an unbent coat hanger. The light duty nylon is completely transparent to most of the vocal range. Literally, you can't tell it's there. However as the air motion increases, the fabric has to move more and more until during popped Ps the motion is extreme and the...
