This happened enough times that they wrote pretty good disaster recovery tools.

Re: Converting WMA to import to Audacity
We were forced into being able to deal with Windows Media and we did it with a powerful license for Flip4Mac. The Free Player won't do you a lot of good, but the next license up has export abilities. I don't know of any free way to do this, not that there aren't any. We're talking about the two corp...

<<<I am washing with solution suggested by library of congress of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol (80/20) solution. >>> I need to have a chat with my friends at the LOC. Alcohol, although it probably won't harm the record, does not dry "clean." Alcohol leaves a residue or film and wh...

Re: a question
<<<u manuelly edit a song as you put it into your computer from a turntable or cassette deck?>>> No. Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except record and play back. The closest thing to editing you can do is press Pause during a recording. If you press Stop, Audacity will start a new timeline...

Re: New recording "skips"
Did swapping the USB connection around or reconnecting it help? Some Windows laptops have a Stereo Line-In connection. I think the Lenovos do that. Connect the analog outputs of the turntable instead of the USB, switch the Windows Control Panel to record the Line-In and go. Some laptops allow you to...

<<<Would it be possible for Audacity to use a different VST Bridge>>>
There's nothing preventing you from asking Steinberg to write a paid module for Audacity. Full graphics and no Bridge software needed. PayPal accepted.

Re: Do I Download the Mac 0s X Intel or PPC?
I answered this at work just before the network system in our end of the building went into the mud. Technology is our friend. <<<Does this mean I download the Intel instead of the PPC version of Audacity?>>> There are known problems with Audacity 1.2 on a Mac/Intel/Leopard. You should be using Auda...

Re: Storing a recording onto HD
<<<I do this by assigning my track labels thus: 01 <track_name_1>, 02 <track_name_2> etc.>>>
Excellent idea.
Please note that Waxy's doing this so the song titles arrive correctly on his iPod, not the Music CD.

Re: Big Question
I would dig around in the instructions for your keyboard. Just because it's a MIDI keyboard doesn't exclude the instrument from sending a digital sound bitstream to the computer. It's extremely unlikely that it can do both at once. See Setup Instructions. If you're on a Mac or a DeskSide PC, you can...
