Re: Converting WMA files to MP3

You didn't say if you had an Intel Mac. Do you? There are known serious problems with 1.2.5 and Mac/Leopard/Intel. If you start having problems with the keyboard not following you or doing odd things, you should give serious consideration to upgrading to Audacity 1.3.7. You can have both on your mac...

Re: Time shifting linked tracks not working

Doesn't it select the whole track if you click in the work panel to the left of the track?

Re: how would i go about this

You mean extract the notes from a finished performance and move them around? I'm going with no. Musical notes, even bass line notes, are not one thing. they're a collection of notes, overtones and harmonics. It's what makes musical notes sound rich and lush. Unfortunately, it makes them impossible t...

Re: Converting WMA files to MP3

<<<small file that just squeaks through.>>> Youi mean it plays very rapidly? Yes, that means Audacity doesn't know what kind of file it is. <<<The big WMA file works fine with Quicktime Player.>>> Do you have Quicktime Pro? Anybody doing radio or television production should have QTP in their tool c...

It's not the cassette player -- probably. Describe the computer.

Re: Removing background noise

<<<they manage to take out the whistle>>> They managed to use the clean track they already had without the whistle. Ball games are produced with 8 foot long, multi-channel sound consoles in crowded trucks and the audio operator produces "Mix Minus" feeds for use later in post production. A...

Re: Recording and play back

That was enough. Skype introduces some interesting new rules in the ball game. In order to get Skype and Vonage to work, they have to grab ahold of the computer sound services very tightly and not let go. USB Services is another layer of that. Given Skype, when you plug the headset in (both headphon...

Re: Recording and play back

<<<recording device - built-in mic>>> You understand that you're trying to make a quality recording from the little built-in microphone hidden in the Mac cabinet? I don't remember where it is on a MacBook. Nobody will be shocked if you don't get a good recording from that. <<<I plug in my Logitech e...

Re: No sound in saved project on Panther

<<<I could not get iMic and Audacity 1.2.4 to play nicely together.>>> I may be able to solve that one. My iMic worked so well I boxed it and put it in the garage. I understand that's a common destination for that device. Can you get your Apple preference panel to recognize the iMic? Apple > System ...

Re: switched from winxp to mac--audacity not working the sam

<<<any ideas from the brain trust?>>> The Brain Trust (short the one who recovering from a particularly difficult Friday Night) thinks you have the wrong Audacity. Intel Macs take 1.2.5, not 1.2.6. So let's start over. Trash the 1.2.6 program and go find the Preference file. Go > Home > Library > Ap...
