Re: .au files on DVD are invisible in Windows Explorer

The second machine may think the missing files are system files and thus are out of bounds. Open Folder Options and tell Windows to stop hiding "Known File Types" and "System Files". Tell it to stop masking file extensions. The next time you do a directory search, everything shou...

Re: Removing thumps and bumps

Hi. Mr. Wet Blanket here. People smacking the microphone stand is almost always fatal to the performance because it drives the microphone itself or certainly the microphone preamplifier into a non-linear region or outright clipping. Re: how to convert mp3 to raw ?

Wikipedia...
raw – a raw file can contain audio in any codec but is usually used with PCM audio data. It is rarely used except for technical tests.

Re: chord notation?

No. That's sounds like something you would need a MIDI controller or sequencer to do. The problem is in recognizing which key you pressed... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/piano_G1.jpg That's an analysis of either a chord on an organ or one single note on a concert grand piano. There's no way to...

Re: Recording and play back

<<<I want to record from the internet. >>> It would have been good to say that way up at the beginning instead of this side trip down microphone lane. Download SoundFlower from the Apple web site. That will give you additional pathways so you can record directly from the internet without going throu...

Re: Reverberation when recording

This happens when you have the wrong sound pathways open which is easy to do in Windows. Here's a piece on how to record harmony to yourself... http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=recording&i=multi-track ...and another piece on running the Windows Control Panel... Windows Control Panel http://aud...
