Re: Recording Cassette- Won't "Grab" First Part of Recording

Windows.

Audacity may be looking for good, clean, defragmented hard drive space to work in. How much hard drive space is there and when was the last time you error checked and defragmented? Audacity will not work into a highly fragmented hard drive no matter how much room you seem to have.

Re: Are saved WAV files diminished?

Don't even think of moving a Project. The forum is littered with people who can't open up their Projects for one reason or another. Sometimes we never find the reason and the show is lost. One poster lamented that he does this all the time, but the last time, two-fifths of his grouped Projects would...

Re: Import Image as Spectrum

What is the goal? Audacity analyzes a sound and creates data that when displayed on the screen forms a picture that you can watch or capture. It doesn't work the other way around. You can't start with the picture and listen to it.

Re: Sync bug

Oh, and be careful of the word "bug." Bugs are pretty highly defined. Unintentional evil behavior exhibited at will by multiple different people on multiple different machines.

You probably have a bad sound card. Audacity is a complete slave to the computer that's running it.

Re: Sync bug

<<<I created a drum sound with the drum machine (Risset i think its called)>>> Are you using the sound card in your computer to digitize the analog drum sounds? Nowhere is it written that the sound card that came with your computer has to be the least accurate or stable. This is one of the reasons b...

Re: volume lowers by itself

Many PCs have automatic volume control on their sound channels. PCs are assumed to be used to make telephone calls, not theatrical performances. Automatic volume control can be good on a phone call. Somewhere in one of your sound control panels there should be a clicky or selection you can turn off....

<<<So they have two tracks? >>> Think World Class. Spanish Track, English Track, Clean Crowd Track, Effects Track, Commentary, Commercial Outtake Track, and, since I did this last time, 3.1 surround and some newer trucks are outfitted with 5.1 surround. That last happened along with the HiDef tape m...

Re: Cannot Export (Newbie, somewhat technologically challeng

Have you ever Repaired Permissions on your machine? You can do a disk check while you're in there. Go > Utilities > Disk Utility Select your drive. Mine's called Jimmy Hard Drive. Sometimes they're called MacHD. Verify Disk. Don't repair anything. When that completes, Repair Permissions. That one sh...

Re: Recording and play back

You're probably still recording the leakage through your USB headset rather than the real thing. It's extremely unlikely that you could record both internet and your voice at the same time.

You don't like the SoundFlower idea?

If you go back far enough, all the rules change. Your file isn't called audacity.cfg.
