Re: Distorted exported MP3 tracks
<<<After I edit a aup track I export it to MP3.>>> An AUP file is an Audacity Project Manager. It's job is to keep track of all the editing you did and where all the parts of your show are. It's not a track or a sound file. Audacity will try to add up all your active tracks when you Export. If that ...

Re: Audio File plays too fast
<<<I have a similar problem and am brand new to Audacity or any digital recording.>>> Actually, you have a very different problem. The original poster had a pitch and speed change, you are missing the silent gaps between words and everything else is the right speed. You should go into Audacity Prefe...

Re: REMOVING STATIC FROM RECORDING?
Run, do not walk, to download and install Audacity 1.3. 1.3 has enormously better noise removal tools than 1.2 did. You can install both on your machine as long as you use one at a time. Audacity 1.2 Projects will open up in both, 1.3 Projects will only open up in 1.3. Just to cover the bases, this ...

Re: 2 input mic's, How does it work?
<<<There might be an easy way to do this>>> It doesn't matter if you're handy with a soldering station or not. Microphones are always mono in a SoundBlaster type sound card. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audioconnectors/audioconnectors.html If there's no battery coming up the ring connection, there's no...

Re: Changing Playback Position
You also get used to mousing with your right hand and keyboarding with your left -- assuming you're right-handed. That saves a lot of time, but nobody is holding a gun to your head. If you're comfortable using the mouse for everything and there's no deadline, have a good time.

Re: 2 input mic's, How does it work?
You crossed the threshold of simple/complex when you said the magic words "Two Microphones." Now you need to know what kind of microphones you have and their requirements. Then you get to go shopping for an external sound card that satisfies those requirements for multiple microphones. So ...

Re: 2 input mic's, How does it work?
<<<Love you <3>>> You'll love us less when we tell you that normal Windows machines can't do that. Windows PCs are designed to use one microphone very well in an internet phone call using Skype or Vonage. No such thing as a two-microphone telephone. You can add hardware that can do that for you. You...

Re: Hey guys, question about file size...
Also keep in mind that MP3 and other compression schemes don't just damage the sound, they restrict your ability to do post production and sound management. The damage multiplies. So the WAV files, as big as they are, should be saved as the Capture Masters -- perfect quality. From those you can make...
