Edit > Preferences > Interface Change to 96dB. Black Down Arrow to the left of the timeline > change to WaveForm dB. Make Audacity and your timeline as tall as you can on your screen by adjusting the windows. Now when you draw the envelopes they will go down to -96dB every time which is well outside...
