Re: Pitch changing for only 1 instrument

Yes.

Changing the pitch isn't the job. Pitch Change is careful work with the appropriate tools. Separating the voice from the piano is the impossible part.

Also see: "Can I take the piano part out of the orchestra and use it in my Video?"

No.

Re: Can't Record

The "Red Record Meters" don't turn red until they start working... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg If there's no sound there, they don't do anything. Don't you get a message about checking the sample rate or location of the capture device or something like that? That's ...

Re: Is there a USB audio interface with 8 ins and outs?

<<<I was afraid that bandwidth may have been the issue.>>> No, it's a connection philosophy. FireWire connections not only trade data back and forth, but housekeeping as well. That's why it's highly recommended for video capture and production of all types. FireWire connections will not stop to purr...

Re: Nyquist in Audacity - order of applying functions

<<<Why is this?>>> I would design it like that. Much less possibility of damage to reduce level first, then increase. Given that peaking at zero seems to be the holey grail of audio production, you have no choice. Any tool that increases the level first will fail as a product. Did you try the Levele...

Re: How to convert from .daf to mp3?

Probably not with Audacity. Audacity isn't a very good converter.

Super or Switch download to your PC.

Re: When [Snap-To On] is activated I cannot move the cursor

You not only have to turn snap on and off, but set the default snap distance. That's in the panels down near where the other snap controls are. For example, if you have the snap distance set for three minutes on a two minute show, snap will fail 100% of the time.

Re: MBOX MAC OS 10.4?????

Also, if they all failed, we would get more complaints and there would be more Google hits. There weren't, so there must be something odd that's common. Maybe there are too many sound pathways. Do you use SoundFlower, WireTap, or other internet recording software? Do you use Vonage, Skype or other i...

Re: MBOX MAC OS 10.4?????

One of the problems with the forum is that it collects people who failed. If none of the elves happens to have the same equipment you do, then a problem may go on for a while. Doesn't anybody have QuickTime Pro? You can make a capture in QTP with no settings and then then analyze the results to see ...

Re: No Input from VidBox

Video digital sound standard is 48000, 16-bit, Stereo. Try resetting Audacity to that, restart and try again.

Re: Not Recording Sounds..

You may be a victim of Windows trying to "help" you. When you plug a USB device into a Windows machine, all sorts of oddball problems may come up. Recording the output of the computer is a pretty common request. Here's the Windows Control Panel help section. Windows Control Panel http://au...
