Re: Equalization for rap vocals (Plugins/Tips)

Certainly high-quality microphone in a quiet studio and a blast filter in front of the mic. http://www.guitartrader.com/!QaCCnElBLQi0GgtjrK2T2Q!/Shure-PS6-Microphone-6-Inch-Pop-Filter-s http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2005/08/how_to_make_you_1.html The blast filter makes production management much ...

Re: Gracenotes

Leaning on your header title for a second, if GraceNote is doing all the heavy lifting, then you may be working way too hard. Music CDs do not have titles of any kind on the disk. When you put a disk in the machine, iTunes sends all the physical properties and order of each cut to GraceNote and Grac...

Re: How do i record tracks from YouTube

Just to eliminate as many oddities as possible, I would reset Audacity Preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Restart Audacity to make sure the settings stick. Then, you need to mess about in the Windows Control Panels to route internet audio to Audacity -- or change it around so Audacity can reach i...

Re: MBOX MAC OS 10.4?????

I would kill to have someone with QTP record a segment and then play it back with the Apple-I info panel to tell us what it really is. Without that, we're all flying blind. It is my opinion that once the stream is inside the Mac, anybody including Audacity should be able to record it. The driver iss...

Re: Can't Record

I see what the problem is. You left out a step. It's real name is M-Audio Firewire 1814. No shortage of M-Audio problems.

Re: using the line in

Knowing nothing about your machine, I can tell you that Audacity is a complete slave to the machine its running on. If you can get the computer to produce a good, clear, crisp sound signal, then Audacity will record it. On some machines, you can move the Audacity Record volume control and it directl...

Re: "warbling" sound after noise reduction

Let me be a little less ambiguous. The noise reduction tool in Audacity 1.2 sucks. I have never been able to get it to do anything valuable -- the best I ever did was to make the show more or less bubbly. The tool almost always creates damage worse than the original noise. Are we clear? You need to ...

Re: Recording with Auxiliary Audio Cable

<<<My friend managed to do it, but he had a lot of fuz in the backround.>>> He had a lot of fuzz because there is a very great level mismatch between the Mic-In on the sound card and the guitar, monitor, or Line-Out of an amplifier. If you have a deskside machine, you can move the plug to the Line-I...

And try not to double post. The same elves service all the forums from all around the world. If there's no good answer in one earth rotation, we may just not know what the answer is.

Hard to believe, but that does happen.
