Re: export to mp3 or wav, no sound...
<<<if i just unhook the usb cable the sound works again!>>> Yes. You don't have to do that, you can open the Windows Control Panels and make sure Windows is set to play back to the speakers and not the turntable. That will save you from crawling behind the turntable every time you want to record. Koz

Re: Subliminal messages
The best version of this I ever heard was someone who layered several carefully coordinated sound performances one on top of the other and then played them all at once. It was very entertaining but had one critical shortcoming for the general population. You couldn't be a modern man or woman and lis...

Re: export to mp3 or wav, no sound...
Did you try recording internet audio after you installed Audacity? Maybe you installed or plugged in a USB sound card or device? Vonage or Skype telephone calls? USB Turntable? All of those reset the Windows sound services. In the case of a USB capture device, Windows will try to send sound back to ...

Re: Variable Speeds During Recording
That's caused by the battery going flat during the recording. The tape speed gets slower and slower during the performance and when you play the tape at the correct speed, everything seems speeded up. Audacity 1.3 has speed, pitch, and tempo effects tools, but I know of no way to slowly fade the too...

Re: Recording Skype conversations in Dummy language
VOIP phone calls are very sticky to get working so the software grabs the sound services of the computer with white knuckles and doesn't let go. Pamela and that other package work within the VOIP services to grab both sides of the conversation. There's no place left to put it. It can't play out the ...

Re: Auto record from the command line
I suspect this is a cousin of the request that we could run Audacity from a network computer. Audacity is a very simple audio program and likes running on very simple computers. It's not designed to cope with command delay and shared action events. If all the moons and stars happen to line up, then ...

Re: Audacity is shutting down, error message, losing recordi
Audacity plays games with its preference and configuration files. You know you got a clean install if the new Audacity asks you "English?" at first birthday. If it doesn't ask you that, then you are still standing on pieces of the old Audacity.

Re: Audacity stopped working
Audacity is a really simple audio program and it likes running on really simple computers. Audacity doesn't always get along with Vonage and Skype, either. There's no "corporation" behind Audacity, so there's nobody around to test and repair every other sound program out there. Couple that...
