Re: How do i get the recording to play in itunes
You finished your show and then Export As WAV, right? If that didn't slide right into iTunes, you may need to change one or two Audacity Preferences. Audacity 1.2 comes out of the box set for 44100, 32-bit, Mono. iTunes is expecting 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Change these in Audacity Preferences. Restar...

Re: iMic volume/noise issues
It's not the only thing I can think of. According to the specs on the Mic Pre, the output is a balanced RTS connection. That's very different from what the iMic is expecting. There you need an unbalanced connection to simulate plugging in a computer microphone. <<<My mic was plugged into its large j...

You missed a step. How long should the system stay in record? I don't think chains supports the timers.
That and Audacity doesn't save sound files. You need to Export to get a clean, stand-alone sound file.

Re: Remove background music from taped conversation
<<<so the end result does not sound so "science fiction ".>>> You would think it would be easy to have a fader so you can control how much of the effect is introduced. It would be the rough equivalent of the "DB Reduction" setting in Audacity 1.3 noise reduction. Maybe the next v...

There have been some amusing things happening with Leopard. There was one poster who couldn't get a FireWire soundcard working no matter what.
Still can't.
Just to cover all the bases, you did get rid of Audacity 1.2, right? That has known issues with Leopard/Intel

Re: Microphone Help.
<<<Shure, dynamic cardioid microphone, C606. Neodymium magnet.>>> Shure Brothers makes very nice microphones. A Dynamic microphone works by moving a thin coil of wire in front of a powerful magnet. It generates electrical signals on its own from the power of your voice and doesn't need phantom power...

Re: Audacity reading wav file as mp3 ?
First, I would talk Windows into showing you file extensions instead of hiding them. Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Deselect "Hide Extensions" and click "Apply to All Folders." Still think you have WAV files? On a while guess, I'd say SS is now producing MP...

I don't think there is any limit to the length of time the Envelope tool can be active. Like I said, this tool is particular nice in your case because it will let you shape the fade between the two performances, not just hard cut. If you do it right, I bet people will not be able to tell what you di...

Re: Mic and Equipment advice for hypnosis cd
The choice of microphone boils down to how far away from the computer you can get. A USB microphone can be delightful, but you can never separate yourself from the computer by more than one USB cable. Noisy computers need not apply. This is a reasonable, cheap USB desk microphone I was able to get t...
