Re: Spinning beach ball
So roughly 20% of the drive is free. That's good. You usually can't paste directly on the forum. Attachments (under a forum text window) > Add Files > Select the file. You don't have to post anything. You're looking for something getting stuck at an unreasonably high usage. It doesn't have to be Aud...

Re: How easy is Audacity?
There is a caution here. Know how much storage there is on the phone and how much you have left. Nothing like getting half-way through the show and the camera beeps MEMORY FULL. Also charge fully and turn the sounder off.

Re: How easy is Audacity?
what's a sound pathway? Dress rehearsal. Start with someone's lips and voice and check the whole thing beginning to end before you commit a show to it. In my particular case I got a perfect and correct sound file stuck on my device and it took extraordinary measures to move it into Audacity. Of all...

Re: ACX-Check Crashes Audacity
I split your posting off from the others. If you piggyback onto the end of a long, foreign posting, you get lost. Audacity vanishes, or it freezes? Do you use any on-line storage? Google G-Drive or anything like that? How long was the show? Do you have either WAV or Lossless Project backups? When wa...

Re: How to record both incoming and outgoing sound in video-conferencing?
We used to do this with a separate computer that would join the conference with no microphone. Then record the speaker feed. That will have everybody on it. I don't know a reliable way to get one computer to do a total recording and participate at the same time. There may be a way to force the sound...

One serious note: Use a sound pathway beginning to end as a test before you commit to a show.

The sound people are fond of reminding everyone that sound without the picture is a radio production. Picture without the sound is a rehearsal.

There's all sorts of tricks here. You can make the phone slightly more obvious and more impervious to table noises with the book and towel trick. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MicBookTowel-500t.jpg It doesn't have to be that big and heavy. You can use a paperback book and a washcloth. Tape...

For example: iPodMicrophone3.jpg Other phones and recorders may differ. I only picked a phone because someone is likely to have one or have access to one. You could use a voice recorder (Olympus in this case) ... https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/FannyPackRecorder.jpg ... or sound recorder, to...
