Re: How do I put the song back together again?
Old news. This burns everybody. Audacity doesn't Save sound files. To get a real sound file you have to Export one. Export As WAV. The best success with an exported sound file requires a few changes to Audacity Preferences. Audacity Formats should be 44100, 16-bit (not 32) Stereo (not Mono). If you ...

The short answer is no. If for no other reason, Audacity has no provision for network delays.

Re: popping/click noise at beginning and end of recordings
<<<I found that using the Normalize function fixed it right up>>> That rings bells, doesn't it? Remove DC is available as part of Normalize in Audacity 1.2. You posted in 1.3 where it's not. Who's right? Normalize is very dangerous to apply because it can alter the Stereo Image. Koz

<<<it sounded pretty much like what I did when editing a video on my Mac a few years back.>>> iMovie? Final Cut? If you've edited anything before, this is just an adaptation to new tools. The principals are the same. By the way, Final Cut follows the philosophy of Saving an internal format and Expor...

Re: Slight clicks in tracks problem
The view from 10,000 feet is you are capturing some work and the computer can't keep up with the data. This is almost always a hard drive problem unless the computer is too busy doing something else. How many other applications are running at the same time as the capture? Minimizing them doesn't cou...

Re: Tips for recording Spots for Radio Broadcast
Stuff you can't fix in Audacity. Almost without exception the most common thing that kills amateur presentations on YouTube is the sound. Pictures are stunningly perfect, but they sound like they were recorded with the camcorder microphone in a bathroom. Announcers tend to not have regional accents ...

Re: can't record a tape
<<<And what do I do with or about the original (pre export) file?>>> There is no file. Audacity keeps a large basket of capture snippets in a hidden folder while you have the program open. If you close Audacity without Exporting or Saving, Audacity dumps the basket in the street for the trash collec...
