Re: audacity crashed
If your computer stayed slow, it may be running out of hard drive space. If you're on a Windows machine, you may need to defragment as well. Audacity will not run into a full or badly fragmented hard drive. What's the size of your hard drive and how much is left?

Re: cannot use it
If you are, in a roundabout way, describing being able to capture anything your computer is playing, then you need to be digging inside the Windows Control Panels. This is a common request for people trying to record internet audio. Same problem. It plays but you can't capture it in Audacity. Window...

Re: Importing from iTunes
Unless you changed it, iTunes changes all incoming music into Apple AAC format which is efficient and iPod friendly, but isn't compatible with anything. You can change that. iTunes Preferences > Import Settings > WAV or AIFF Auto. Either of those should drop right into Audacity or any other audio pr...

Re: can't record a tape
The crash problem can be caused by anything, any instability. Remember Audacity runs on multiple platforms and they're all constantly evolving. <<<I have not been using the computer that long.>>> See, it would be good to know that earlier.... Doctors have a thing they call the "Doorknob Moment." The patient in all other respects healthy is ready to leave the doctor's office. He turns with his hand on the knob and says, "By th...

Re: Audacity Crashes when I hit Record button
You can install both 1.2 and 1.3 with no damage and 1.3 will open all 1.2 projects (not the other way 'round). You can only open one Audacity at a time. I do have a question about stacking Audacities like that. Will not 1.3 automatically assume the preferences of 1.2? Wouldn't that put you back wher...

Re: How to make label songs??
Somebody will correct me, but the streaming server has to do that with, say, JavaScript. It's not something you build into the music file.
