Re: Fresh Recording Playback problem
[Stunned blank look] It's official. I have no idea. Speed changes almost always happen when the computer isn't going fast enough for some reason. ...... the existing clip plays fast but the pitch doesn't go up ....... If you open the clip in a plain, non-complicated timeline with no recording or sha...

Re: Tone Generator
Does Audacity still generate mono tones for insertion into a blank stereo project? Might we get rid of that?

Re: Sharp 'S' in vocals
<<<I use a logitec headset to record.>>> We use a series of Labtec headsets for videoconference work, and they're very live, bright, and sparkly. Normally, that's a good thing, but it can overload a sound channel and cause problems. When you get an overloading sibilant you can drill teeth and strip ...

<<<i have 30GB left on my storage device>>>
"Storage Device?" Can you talk about that?
How much room is there on your System Drive? Can we assume that's where Audacity is running?

Re: Exporting/Mp3 Playback issues
<<<when I try to convert the file to MP3 or WAV Format>>> You used the wrong English words. You need to Export your show to get a WAV or MP3 file. Audacity will not Save a sound file. Sometimes you can have export problems with Audacity's default sound settings. Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O and Qu...

Re: Directory for temp
You, unlike the earlier poster, have a crash recovery issue, not a permissions issue. Recovering from a disaster isn't as easy as the operating messages lead you to think. Crash Recovery http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery I can't tell you where the temporary directory is beca...

Re: can't seem to find click
This is a fun one. I don't think you have one point of damage. I think you have distributed damage over several cycles of music. The damage in this clip is between .52 and .53 seconds. I did it by setting stop points further and further along while I played the whole first segment. I stopped when I ...

Re: can't seem to find click
How about we tell you how to find it? There is one Audacity preference that drives me nuts and that's Auto Scroll with Playback, or whatever it's called on your version. On some it's Update Display While Playing. What that change does for you is keep one edit point on your screen wherever the cursor...

<<<I record an audio podcast>>>
How? Microphones, mixers, processing, connections? Part numbers, anything. It's rough to cure this in post production, so we need to cure it during the show.

Re: Hardware or software problem?
<<<I have been recording radio programs for months without any problems>>> That's the alarm bell. You have plenty of room left on your hard drive and it's thoroughly error checked and defragmented? I do that, too, and if I didn't clean up after each production, I'd be out of room in a couple of week...
