Do all the problems go away if you remove Audacity, I assume in the Add/Remove Programs panel? You won't lose the purchase license, there isn't one.

Re: Playback of file is too fast
<<<I found the saved AIFF file in documents as well as an .aup file,>>> You didn't say in your narrative that you Saved A Project, but you must have, because that's what creates the AUP file. The AUP file is the Audacity Project manager. It's a list of instructions, not a sound file. <<<I tried to l...

Re: Playback of file is too fast
We always urge people, especially new Mac users, to stop using Audacity 1.2 and go on to 1.3. The page listings suggest that all sorts of Really Bad Things are going to happen if you use 1.3, but that was written back when 1.3 was a collection of bad programming blocks, not now. The current 1.3 is a...

Re: Speaker Cutting in and out
Just because I try and not leave any turn unstoned, you do have a lot of clean, error-free, defragmented hard drive space available, right? Particularly the System Drive c:. You can't just keep piling up hungry production tools one atop the other

Re: Speaker Cutting in and out
<<<Conexant Smartaudio 221 speakers, 2gb/3ghz>> The first cloud in the sky was when I looked up that speaker and nobody tried to sell them to me. Pages of help forum entries, discussions, complaints, and software patches, etc. No speakers. So I still don't know if they're USB speakers. Audacity does...

Re: Playback of file is too fast
Using an AIFF file just muddies the waters. Switch Audacity back to WAV in Preferences. Apple (and everybody else) directly supports WAV format. You recorded a 24-minute side of vinyl, Saved a Project, and then it wouldn't playback in the Audacity timeline right then? Describe the exact steps before...

Re: Recording with bluetooth headset
You can't connect common services like two headsets, and you can't support more than one antenna, but I believe the maximum number of absolute connections is 7 or 8. Assuming the drivers and Windows supports it. <<<bluetooth USB transmitter.>>> That may kill you right there. Two antennas, one inside...

Re: Recording skips in parts and sound sometimes muffled
<<<The first few times I've recorded, the sound has been perfect;>>> Recent recordings you made after you started to fill up your hard drive? Have you ever error checked or defragmented? Audacity will not run into a badly fragmented hard drive and nobody likes one that's filling up. Koz

Then we need to know what you were recording and how it was connected and to what kind of computer. You may now have a specific connection problem which we can't address because we don't have any specifics on your computer.
