<<<having to hit stop or pause so Audacity can 'pick up' the new loop start and/or stop markers makes working with loops in real-time very painful>>>
Exactly. Audacity is a post production program. It doesn't do anything in real time except record/capture and play back.

Re: libavformat.52.dylib
In Vegas you'd have a 25% chance of hitting it. The Audacity has to be right and the external software has to be right at the same time. People forget that you can have the wrong Audacity. So it's 0/0, 0/1, 1/0, or 1/1. 25% chance. Actually, chances are slightly less, because either of them can be b...

Re: Don't want windows alert sounds?
Launching Audacity cold and clicking inside the red record meters causes them to go into monitor mode. They will bounce to the music. Then open up the Windows control panels and start turning things off until it goes away. It's not unusual to find you're in the wrong panel because you have everythin...

I got an idea. Is there a link? I don't have CQB Radio and iTunes doesn't let us search.

Re: Audacity for dummies??
http://audacityteam.org/manual-1.2/tutorials.html That's as basic as it gets. Maybe when you get good at it, you can write a better tutorial or class or more of them. There's no corporation back here -- it's all volunteers, so what you/we contribute is what's available. If the very idea horrifies yo...

Re: Fade Down but not Fade Out?
The envelope tool is the user friendly tool. Audacity doesn't do anything in real time, so the only other option is to pre-cut the music beds into proper fades at the appropriate times using cold script readings and a stop watch, then put each music cut and segment onto its own track versus the voic...

Have you noticed that this entire thread is in the wrong forum? We should be in Recording Techniques.

Re: Trying to make a good 'narrator' voice sound
You need to do that again and this time put the round nylon pop filter between you and the microphone. Then back up another foot. The track is full of the ultra presence and odd dynamics that only happen when an announcer is trying to talk to you in real life three inches away from your ear. There a...

Re: how to make 8bit videogame music with audacity?
Audacity is a terrible converter. I would probably produce all my music in a sane standard like 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and use an external converter like Super or Switch to produce the final.
