Re: Cannot open Project File
Lots of "You have to remember..."
My workflow goes face first into the mud with multi-track shows. If your deliverable is 3 channels or more, that's the day I call in sick.

<<<is there some magic switch somewhere that has to be enabled? >>> Yes. It's "mix out" or something like that. It's not a default. You need to go looking for it. Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel Koz

I hear the show and can stop and start it, but I don't get Speed Ahead buttons. Can you post a bit of just the problem -- say a portion where it starts? I believe you can zip it and the forum will let you include it as an attachment. Does it start instantly? One instant it's clean (the portion I hea...

Re: Cannot open Project File
I, on the other hand, never used Projects. I Export As WAV right after a live capture and, if needed, export again several times in the middle, and certainly at the end. That's the Edit Master. The capture WAV and the Edit Master get backed up to safety drives. There is no excuse for booking a recap...

<<<I want to convert a wma file to mp3>>> You are almost certainly trying to import a file type that Audacity does not support. Audacity Supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC & MP2 in 1.3. If this is the case you have two basic options: 1. find and use some converter software like Super or Switch to c...

It's no Studer reel to reel and Scotch 206, no. Who made the blocks? I want to say EditTech? No, wait, EdiTall! For extra credit, who made the razor blades and grease pencil? Where are you getting your phantom power from? The mic needs it and the interface doesn't supply it. Anyway. Audacity 1.2 doe...

<<<apply a subtle reduction to the bass>>> Or back off from the microphone which has the same affect, sounds better, and is faster. Also that Pop and Blast filter is good. Shucks. I keep forgetting to write down that links about how to build your own. Here it is. -- Pop and blast filters are really ...
