Re: Repair tips needed
There is no tutorial for Ultra Beginner. I looked. They all assume you have a nodding familiarity with how an editor works. And you don't. So here's the basics. There is an Audacity preference that makes new editors nuts. Update Display while Playing or Scroll Display When Playing. Locate that in th...

Re: Disappearing files
Projects do not live in temporary cache. That's only for capture data before you save a project. Projects consist of conventional files, although sometimes a lot more of them than you think. Are you filling up your hard drive? Do you know why it blue-screened? Audacity is the canary in the coal mine...

Re: Differences between Tracks?
<<<though not in the original colors>>> Well, it's subtracting the RGB values. So if the original was purple (red and blue) and your comparison track is red, the end result will be blue. If you don't want it to do that, you need to do the arithmetic with monochrome-mix masks instead of straight colo...

Re: Audacity cannot burn cds
Audacity wakes up from first birthday in 44100, 32-floating, Mono. Some versions 44100, 32-floating, Stereo. Reset Audacity Preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Restart Audacity and try a test recording.

Re: Need help with audio book recording
You haven't said anything that gives us bad dreams yet. Yes, please post a ten second raw capture file somewhere. I use 48000/16/Stereo all the time. That's the television sound standard. The test sound files on my web site are that standard. While you're preparing the work, save and edit this file....

Re: Low level on recording
Which Linux sound control service do you use? We use artsd and it has both a Capture Level and a Line Level. Sometimes we can juggle between the two and get both directions to be better behaved. Also, we have one install where the Sound Control Panels follow the controls in Audacity, but only on Thu...

Re: Edit while recording
<<<Now we must wait until the end of event and then began to edit the tracks. The difference are some minutes. In radio this is a lot of time.>>> It's a long time in television, too. Audacity is a very simple program and it likes running on very simple machines. So not only can't you run multiple in...
