Re: Splicing problems

Open the original two audio files in QuickTime Player (one at a time) and press Apple-I to get the INFO panel. What do they say? Audacity -- especially 1.2 -- doesn't deal well with two audio files with very different characteristics. There was one other posting on the forum about somebody who had s...

Re: Make it sound like a Studio

That and posting at the bottom of somebody else's post has problems. It's hard to find and some search processes don't work.

We also like to keep conversations on the forum so the maximum number of people can benefit.

Re: Key Command L

Are you using Audacity 1.2 on an Intel Mac with Leopard OS-X 10.5? Stop doing that. There is no stable Audacity 1.2 for us. Trash the program and install Audaciy 1.3. There are no new patches for Audacity 1.2. If it doesn't work for you, then there are very few repair options. <<<also the mailing li...

Re: How can I listen to what I am recording in Mac OS.X

Audacity > Preferences > Audio I/O > Overdub. Play other tracks while recording new ones.

Restart Audacity.

See if that works.

Re: Simple Audacity 1.2.6 question.

Open each song in its own timeline, select, copy, and paste one into the other. Then delete the original and use the rest of the editing tools to match up the two songs. That's one way. If the two songs are not actually MP3 or the two MP3 characteristics aren't close enough to each other, they may n...

Re: Authorization Required

Remember, you'll need to reset your sampe rate, bit depth, Stereo, all of that. Audacity will forget everything.

Re: Authorization Required

You posted in the 1.2 forum. Which version is broken? Sometimes you can correct Audacity's assumptions by trashing the preferences file. This will start Audacity from First Birthday and it should ask you "English?" when you start it. Trash Mac Audacity Preferences http://audacityteam.org/f...

Re: Need good Mic Processor: Symetrix 528e or Equiv?

You're probably going to be stuck with a hardware solution. Audacity won't do anything in real time except capture and play back. No shortage of people who want Audacity to apply filters while it's recording. Sorry. You might want to read through this. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=2...

Re: Need help with audio book recording

There's something wrong. Most Zoom owners I know wouldn't give them up at gunpoint.

Zooms will produce a WAV file in Broadcast Format. Anybody know what it sounds like if you do that by accident?

Re: Trim dead space before and after file Batch processing

It will kill silences everywhere.

You are bumping into Audacity's inability to manage edit or navigation points."Go to this time." "Go five minutes back." "Select three minutes."

Those tools may be necessary to do what you want.
