Re: Playback speed ultra fast
Your problem shouldn't be happening because Audacity 1.2 should have never imported any of your iPod files. You know they're M4A files because you have Windows set to show file extensions? Or did you find out in the Properties dialog box? Or are you guessing? Apple iPods will cheerfully load and pla...

Re: Do repeated exports of same MP3 file degrade quality?
If you repeatedly export edited versions of one Audacity Project , then the damage will be the same at each export, more or less. Audio compressors look at the Whole Show and not piece by piece, so if you made the show shorter, you might get a different compression. In the higher order compressors (...

<<<Overdub. Play other tracks while recording new ones.>>>
Do you have that clicked? You didn't actually say that. Don't skip steps while you're working.
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output. What do you have selected there?

Re: Splicing problems
Put the 48000 song on Audacity. Change the little window in the lower left from 48000 to 44100. Export As WAV and call it something new. Don't damage the old file by calling them the same name.
That new file and your old 44100 file should cut and paste and edit into each other.

Re: Faulty MP3 and WAV playback of projects
Before you even say hello, you need to tell us that you have at least 10% space left on your hard drive and you error checked and defragmented thoroughly. Audacity will not run in real time (without gaps) on a fragmented drive. Audacity doesn't Play Well With Others. Audacity always assumes it's the...

Re: Completed project - how to burn on Cd
<<<I have saved the file>>> You need to get compulsive with us. Audacity doesn't save sound files. It only saves Projects. Projects don't work with anything outside of Audacity and they won't make a Music CD. Once you have your show finished in Audacity, File > Export As WAV (not Import) and Windows...

Re: Splicing problems
The top one is in Music CD format and the bottom one is in Television sound format. You could downconvert the second one to CD format using the instructions in that posting. 48000 -> 44100. Export a new WAV file and once they're both in the same format, they should fall right into each other on one ...

Re: Completed project - how to burn on Cd
Projects are easy to damage if you move files around. Does the Project and show still open and play OK? While it's open, File > Export As WAV and call it something simple with no punctuation marks in the filename. That will be a good, stand-alone sound file and you should be able to open that up in ...

In the earlier Macs, sometimes you could restore sanity by trashing your preference file(s). Trash Mac Audacity Preferences http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8250&hilit=problems+with+save+with+export&start=10#p34670 Audacity 1.3 isn't the buggy mess it started out being....
