Reopen Noise Removal
This is a copy/paste from another posting. 1) when I want to do noise removal, the window asks me to select the section of noise. when I click on get noise profile, the window closes and then I have to open the noise removal window again. Is that the way it is supposed to work? Yes, but that doesn't...

Re: What can be done to stop the accumulation of hiss ?
<<<-76dB is low level and below the noise floor of many domestic amplifiers.>>> But even if it's not (my BGWs can do 106dB) you can't listen to the Beastie Boys and then just press Stop and hear the noise -- particularly if it's up that far in frequency. Most people can't hear much past 15 KHz, the ...

Re: Missing Time Window
The show has to come out 51:30. I want to delete half-second silences in the show until everything works out. Alternately (and much more likely) I'm going to delete :30 clean chunks of the show. If the end doesn't work out to 51:30, I know I made a mistake. Wait, 52:00??? I missed something [email protected]#$%. Koz

Re: Amplify / Normalize problem...Help
That's OK. Do you understand what happens? Windows breaks up your work into little clusters and stores them on the drive wherever it can find room, first come, first served. If you remove a 1M file and then store a 2M file, Windows will break up your work into 1M to fill the recently vacated hole, a...

Re: slow redraws
Anything you do will help. If it's a Windows machine, make sure the drives are all error checked and thoroughly defragmented. I can bring my machines to their knees by trying to edit an hour stereo show while iTunes, Photoshop, and sound capture software is running. I just run out of machine. Increa...

Re: Missing Time Window
Nobody knows modern Macs support three button mice with scroll wheel. I wouldn't dream of running a Mac without one. Most of the machines are Microsoft Wireless, too, including the laptops. I can edit wheelies around people still trying to use one button. That's just so 1980s. Yes, I found it, but y...

Re: What can be done to stop the accumulation of hiss ?
When CD Audio was designed, somewhere around the Harding Administration, there was a serious fight over the amount of music on the disk versus the quality. There was no serious compression available in the Harding years. When they settled on 80 minutes and 44100, all the golden ear audio people rose...

I wouldn't have objected to knowing what the WAV format was. Can we assume you kept opening up the last export? And nobody would complain about seeing a spectrum of the original "show" as a control. Is that the Audacity spectrum analyzer? <<<...but I can heart it clearly...>>> After you cr...

Re: "aliasfile" search in .aup returns no results
<<<Project Files show only a flat line or no line at all when opened in Audacity.>>> Do the ones that show a flat line come out to the right show length? Like the show was two hours and the blank line was two hours long? <<<A search in notepad of the .aup file for "aliasfiles" returns no r...

Re: Lost Files
<<<Right now I'm looking at data recovery software to see if I can find and restore those audio files. >>> Good luck with that. OS-X is a UNIX based operating system and is constantly managing its drives. It's not Windows. Like it says in the little delete panel, "You cannot undo this action.&q...
