Re: clipping/distorted tracks while recording

Re: Distorted Sound
Interesting combination of errors. How are you recording this? Capture file and play locally? Record Mix-Out?
Two computers? Cable Box and computer?

Re: Cutting out vocals
Lots of people had a go at making vocal isolation and vocal removal programs -- Audacity has one of its own, but the success rate isn't very high. One of the things among a very long list that kills vocal management is if the original production had effects and reverb added..... Voice Removal or Iso...

Re: What can be done to stop the accumulation of hiss ?
<<<I appeciate this accumulation of noise will occur with lossy compression (e.g. MP3)<>>> Then you may be appreciating the wrong thing. MP3 damage has nothing to do with hiss and noise. If anything a highly compressed MP3 is quieter than a WAV file. MP3 damage is in quality of performance. My silly...

Re: Importing Saved Audacity Projects to work with again
So Audacity works and we need to go back a bit. Where did the material for the original show come from? You didn't say in the post.

Re: Like Your Input for Audacity Use on our Radio Show
It would have been good to know that at the beginning. Yes, MP3 files with a 32-floating base cause troubles. I've rescued productions from disaster by simply resampling the deliverable to 16 bit. The only actual problem you now have is the inability to do actual production. Each decompress and comp...

Re: Greyed-out menu items
Audacity is a really simple program and it likes running on really simple computers. "Spaces" aka virtual desktops need not apply.
