Re: New please help?
The volume change should be pretty easy with the Normalize tool. That tool changes the waveforms of left and right individually until they come out even. It doesn't strictly know about loudness or volume, but if the work is all spoken voices, it should be close enough. Large, learned documents have ...

Re: Playback freezing & out of sync
You're running out of machine. There are certain machine resources needed to play one high-quality stereo track without stuttering. You need to add those same resources every time you add a track. It's not open ended. Sooner or later you're going to need to play too many tracks for the machine to ke...

Re: Mystery Static
You did miss some important numbers. 44100, 16-bit, Stereo? Project, recording, everything all running at the same rate? <<<RE-20 Microphone>>> A real RE-20? Not that souped up thing that doesn't sound as good? Rubber spider mount? So let's say you're singing all three parts of the Andrews Sisters i...

Re: Recording My Electric Guitar
What kind of computer do you have? If you have anything but a Windows Laptop, you can get adapters to plug your electric guitar straight into the computer. After you mess with that for a while and get used to Audacity and the whole capture process, then you can blow the bux on a more advanced sound ...

I've never seen any software or product that can do that.

Re: How do I import and add to current track?
Did you try selecting all of them and Open With? Did you try it with Audacity 1.3? Audacity 1.3 has a lot more tricks with this than 1.2. Even if they open up one above the other, Select-All, End, and Paste are all hot keys. You could get sneaky and edit the AUP file. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/...

Re: Mystery Static
Do an analysis / spectrum on the voice. I've never seen that before. You get the expected humps and lumps which is the actor speaking, but the hash produces a completely flat display. Sort of the actor's voice poking up over a field of wheat.

Re: Mystery Static
Oh, that's good. Data errors only when the sound level goes over a certain amount. And it's not clipping or constant noise. Cool! OK, so now we need you to finish the sentence: <<<Hello, I recorded a bunch of tracks this weekend>>> ...using my [model number] microphone plugged into my [model number]...

Re: Missing Time Window
There is a posting up the forum where somebody wants to select exactly the same edit points in, for example, 16 tracks. I don't know how he's going to do that without a lot of coffee and mousing. I don't know any way to do that across multiple tracks which was the original question. In a video edito...

Re: Line-In/Microphone Playback
It's scary that I think I know this one. In Windows, you can click on the little speaker icon and the Playback Panel will open up. There is another panel under Options called the record panel. If you turn up Line-In on the record panel and All and Speaker on the play panel, the Line-In (or Mic-In or...
