Re: Peak and Floor levels
Do you have an Edit Master Project? The intent is to do most of the work in Projects (perfect quality, but brittle) and export WAV at the raw reading and Edit master stage. That's bare minimum. So without getting into bookkeeping, yes, open the current Edit Master WAV, remove the evil segments and e...

Re: Peak and Floor levels
You only need the MP3 file for the Final Edit Master you plan to send to ACX. It's pretty much useless before then.

Re: Peak and Floor levels
Move or copy your unedited show and/or Edit Master-1 WAV to a thumb drive or someplace off the machine. This is your backup if the machine takes a dive in the middle of the edit. You need to get good at Zooming. Zoom into the blue waves and set a Label at the start point you want to delete, zoom out...

Re: Peak and Floor levels
So today, the author approved it and we thought we were good to go until we noticed in the new instructions that in the opening credits you do not read any dedications or acknowledgements, etc ......... both of which I recorded. Short of re-recording the entire Chapter 1, is there a way to go into ...

Re: Peak and Floor levels
A Project isn't an audio file. It's a collection of files and folders that can reconstruct your editing environment. It should give you the chance to save an AUP file like this. Screen Shot 2020-04-20 at 11.15.37.png That should allow you to use safe filename characters to call your show what you wa...

Re: Audiobooks rules
The test doesn't have to be in English. That one ten-second sound track can give us an idea of what problems you might have when you try to read for good quality voice recordings. Most people publish in Audible/ACX. ACX has strict standards for reading quality and we can give you ideas how to change...
Re: ACX
They publish a Help Center with a lot more detailed info. https://audible-acx.custhelp.com/ One of the problems you may have noticed is they go into Great Detail about the color of shirt you should wear when you appear on television talk shows to promote your audiobook, and not such great detail abo...

Re: Peak and Floor levels
Without being too much of a voice from the heavens, I would probably wait until one test succeeds. You do still have one pending test, right? The first test failed from simple volume and technical standards issues. We got that. Then you posted a corrected one and that's where it's sitting, waiting f...

Re: Removing tongue clicking (tongue chatter) from recording
Should they be unique to the specific click I'm trying to erase or is it something categorical? Not a clue. I've never used it. This is where you mess with the settings, are a spectacular success, and post back how you did it. This is a "users helping each other" forum. Anything in that i...

Re: Buzzing & Distortion during playback
literally nothing has changed. Things can change in the background. Do you use Skype or other chat or conference program? Games? Did Windows do an update between those two events? All those can change your sound service whether you want it or not. Drag-select some of the work and post it on the for...
