Re: Audiobook RMS
You represent the worst-case situation. You're not the reader. Do you know the game "telephone?" You whisper a message to one person and they whisper it to another, through a pile of people. You see what comes out the other end. It's possible we may need your reader to produce a short soun...

Re: Audiobook RMS
Requirement: files measuring between -23dB and -18dB RMS That's step one in chasing your own tail. You fix the RMS (Loudness) and that throws the Peaks off and then you fix that, etc, etc. We publish a three-step process that guarantees Peak and RMS and if you recorded well in a quiet, echo-free ro...

I pulled SetRMS from kozco.com /Documents.
A search returns File Not Found.
I still have pages that try to point to it. I'll hit that tomorrow.

Re: setRMS nyquist code not working
@koz I suggest that you fix or remove the non-working code from your previous post. I forgot that post was out there. I'm patching kozco code to reflect the current thinking about mastering. I can see with the current sudden push to do something at home that can generate income, all that half-forgo...

Re: repeated crashing

The crash is causing the report. Repeated crashing is pretty serious and as I recall, they experienced spinning ...

Any word from ACX? They're going to have to unscramble you since you posted both a test and a chapter.

Re: Reducing wind noise while preserving wildlife sounds
The masterclass test for sound recording is here.

You can build the jets into the interview, but note the palm trees are blowing. LAX is a straight shot to Dockweiler Beach and Pacific Ocean Breezes. I had trouble recording the jets.

Re: Reducing wind noise while preserving wildlife sounds
Noise Reduction needs a sample of pure noise so it can "sniff it" and know what to attack. Notch filters are good when the interference has one or very few stable musical tones such as wall power hum and buzz. Try Effect > Filter Curve > Manage > Factory Presets > Low Rolloff for Speech. T...
