Re: Electric noise on audio recording
<<<It sounds like zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz. >>> I don't know that I agree. 15 KHz is the frequency glass TVs use in the US and a vast majority of the TV viewing public can't hear it at all, much less object to it interfering with the show. That and there's a filter inside the computer to help get rid...

Re: Improving the sound of a real piano recording
Is that serendipitous or what... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pianoRecital.wav (stiff download). Please excuse the noisy transmission. I've been going back and forth between the two. The Real Thing is a Steinway in Lincoln Center, so that's the gold standard. I think a lot of the mush in the p...

Re: Improving the sound of a real piano recording
Which is basically what I was going to do, but carried off much better. How did you get rid of the "noise," and in which Audacity? I hear phasing caused by a small living room. I know this because this is exactly what my upright grand sounded like in my living room. Some of the notes are w...

http://www.classicsansui.net/images/Literature/Receivers/771/771a.jpg It's a full-on integrated receiver. No simple amplifier this. <<<spraying and cleaning as many internals as I can.>>> Spraying as in FreezeMist®, or spraying as in Windex®? Can you tell the physical diving line between the Left an...

Re: Exporting Problems
The pieces of your post don't match. You describe Export As WAV and Export As AIFF, but the files you have all point to Save instead of Export. Save Project is what creates the _data folder. Audacity will not Save a sound file. You must Export to get a stand-alone sound file that will play in iTunes...

Re: Song's data files have gone missing without a crash?
<<<-note: I am NOT using the beta version.>>> Perhaps you should be. Audacity 1.2 is getting more and more unstable and unworkable as we get on. Anybody doing serious work has abandoned 1.2 long ago. Audacity will not Save sound files. It saves Projects. Projects tend to marry themselves to original...

Re: wav file won't play on my cd player
Nowhere in that process did you make a Music CD. My truck would not have played it, either. Find the highest quality version of the work, or the work as closest to the original and open it in iTunes. Make sure it plays OK. Create a Playlist and drag that music file over to it. Burn Disk from the lit...

Re: Ripping Vocal From .mkv video
Vocal removal, isolation, and management almost never works. The show has to be in Stereo, not two channel mono, or worse one channel mono, it has to not be in MP3 or other compressed format, and the voice has to not have stereo effects, echo, or enhancement. That leaves, what, four songs ever recor...

<<<Should've bought an iPod
- they support their own AAC (compressed) , Apple Lossles, MP3 AND WAV>>>
That and I once did an emergency iBook System backup onto my iPod. It's probably still there.
