Re: problem with the waves
<<<out from the amps out speakers >>> Try this. Turn the computer mixer and Audacity all the way up. Now reach over and turn the sound amplifier way down. You can launch Audacity and click once inside the record meters and they will start work so you can set sound levels without needing to make a fu...

Re: Setup files corrupted?
You may need to burn 1.2 off completely and install 1.3. Audacity 1.2, alone of all the versions saved its preferences in The Dreaded Windows Registry. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Audacity_Preferences So if you really do have damaged preferences, you need to get rid of them before y...

Re: problem with the waves
It's distorting anyway. Windows machines can do this when you plug a high level sound signal into the microphone input. Describe your system. Part numbers help. Details.

Re: noisy channel
They said it didn't matter what the settings were or where the controls were set. After the switching and volume controls, etc, etc, is the final output amplifier. There are no controls on it and it comes on the instant the amplifier is powered up. If one of the power transistors or any component in...

Re: Importing Audio Into A Project - Nothing happening
Audacity is not a very good converter. You told Audacity to play a sound file that it had no idea how to manage. See if Olympus has any conversion software available, or you might be able to convert the sound in Super or Switch download.
